I really only need it the first two or three weeks of bow, and only in certain stands (near water). I still keep it with me for a while after though, just in case it warms up. That thing is amazing. V
This year i will be suing mine alot more as I'm switching over to hunting more afternoons than mornings on my property. LOL.....EDIT!!! "using" not "suing"
That's a frivolous lawsuit if I ever heard of one...kidding I know it was a typo, but it struck me as funny. I keep saying I am going to buy one, the bugs are worse this year so I think that's finally the push I need.
How does that work; once a cartridge is started does it have to be used up or does it last a while in the unit?
The butane only burns when the unit is on. When I leave the woods it's off and I unscrew my butane cartridge for storage and to see how much is left. ~Bill
Probably 6-8 Butane Cartridges and 16-20 pads. Bow season starts the first week of September here and the skeeters are out until October.
Okay cool. Wasn't sure if it was like small co2 cartridges where once it's punctured it needs to be used.
the pads last 4 to 5 hours say you just use one for 2 hours take it out and put it in a ziplock bag and keep it away from sunlight and it will be ready for 2 more hours but once they turn white they are toast and its time to slide in a new one
One early Sept rolls around there are not that many skeeters left anymore. I don't even use Thermocell during the bow season usually.
Ohio weather is too back and forth and the first few weeks could be blazing hot or they could be ice cold. Typically though, I think I use my Thermacell 2-3 times and that's about it. I think I have about half a bottle of the fuel and a few pads from when I initially purchased it.
