Dean Krueger just went on a hunt with them a few weeks ago. He saw a bunch of bears and took a nice big cinnamon on his 2nd night. You can watch his full hunt here: Episode 06: Can't Bear It Anymore

Check out Walter's Wilderness Camp up in Carrot River Saskatchewan. They specialize in bow only bear hunts in the Spring. I went several years ago and my buddy, who got me to go on that trip, had been there previously. Great lodging, excellent food and there is no doubt you will see plenty of bear there as they do not over hunt spots and with the bow only they are not overly pressured. Walter Charko and his son Jerad know what they are doing and run a great operation!!

Slugger: I forgot to mention they are a little pricy but you do get what you pay for. I
have been 3x. They normally have about 15 hunters in camp. All had bear opportunity some didn't shoot waiting for a larger bear some didn't find anything. Also forgot to tell you that they're in Plaster Rock new Brunswick.

If I remember correctly Walter's place only took 8-10 hunters per week. The one thing I liked most about them was they literally took you to the treestand on the 4 wheeler. While they baited you climbed up. When you were done for the day you just sat in the stand until they would come and pick you up the same way right after shooting hours. That gave me peace of mind since it was my first bear hunt. Every day I saw several different bears until I shot mine. All of the hunters in camp were the same way as well.

Chuck that is pretty much the way a good bear camp is supposed to run. Sadly there are a lot of fly by nights that don't. Good ones also feed you well, clean comfortable lodging, and camaraderie.

That's their website. If anyone has any information on this outfitter, please let me know. I know it won't be the quality of a Canadian bear hunt, but it's more in my price range.

Big Grass Outfitters definitely have the bears, and some big ones at that! They are known for the large amount of color phase bears in that area. After I shot my cinnamon, we were traveling back to camp and seen a blonde bear about 30 yards off the road feeding on grass. It topped off an exciting night of hunting for me.
