It looks like I will be flying out to Missouri to bowunt this Fall. Excited...for sure! I just don't know what to expect while flying.
    1. Can I take my bow in a "regular" bowcase or do I have to buy one of those high dollar ones?
    2. I know I can't take a knife...how does that work with broadheads?
    3. Are there any other special instructions I would need to know?
4.Who would I contact for more info? The airline? The TSA?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    1) is it a hard case that you can put a lock on? If so, use that it will be plenty fine.
    2) You can take a knife as long as it's in your checked bags, same with broad heads. You can't have those on your person or in carry on. Throw your knife in your bow case, same with broadheads and you are good to go.
    3) spend 1.50 on a "Fragile" sticker at your post office, so the bone heads checking bags don't toss it around
    4) TSA guidelines or airline would both help

    Thanks jjs3,

Yes, it is a hard, lockable case. Thanks for the pointers...I will definitely keep them in mind as I prepare for the trip.

I've heard of people taking a lot of stuff will ship it via UPS or what have you to save on bag check fees and unneeded hassle. Not sure if this is a option for you.

Yep. I know that if I ever fly to a hunt I'll ship my bow either UPS or Fed Ex ground. Way too much crap happens to checked luggage for me to trust them with my bow.

Again, thanks for the helpful info. I have thought about shipping some of the stuff (bow included). I will have to do a little more research.
