So I drew my elk archery tag here in Montana and am beyond excited for it. Going through my check list of stuff I noticed I didn't have any early season camo. Looking for a quality pant and top preferably something light weight as it will more then likely be fairly warm still. Kryptek and kings are the front runners but open to other options. Thanks in advance.

i've liked the asat/predator style where it's really versatile, especially the asat

I really like the under armour early season but it's unfortunately pretty pricey

I know that the realtree apg is a good earlier season camo pattern.

I would go with Realtree APG.

Sitka. I'd get either the accent pant or mountain pant. Add a long sleeve merino shirt and a vest and you are set. IMO optifade open country works good. You should also check out KUIU.

Had anyone had a look at or tried out the "First Light" camo at all? I like wool products when outdoors and really have my eye on them but want a little knowledge before I pull the trigger on them. Also looked at pairing it with the ASAT leaf pant and jacket might be over kill but not sure.

Can't go wrong with under armour but I think the best thing is to go to a store and try different things on.

IMO Kuiu is the best for the money plus they just lowered their prices. First lite is great also. Either way, but merino. Stay away from the synthetics

For western hunting wool is the only choice, Kuiu, First Lite, Sitka would be on my short list. On long trips synthetics are miserable because they hold odor horribly.

The kryptek has served me well in the western side. I hunt the high country and the pattern works in the timber and the edges of the meadows and wallows.
