My oldest sons birthday is on Memorial Day. I noticed about a week ago that ChuckC was trying to sell his 2013 Mathews Creed so he could buy a new bow. So I picked it up for my son yesterday. It's in immaculate condition. I hid it in his bow case after he left for school today. So my boy is going from a 4 year old Mission, to a Creed that's making me want to draw it back one time, just to see what the fuss is about. (But I'm not going to) On his birthday, I'm going to tell him to grab his bow so we can go to the club and shoot. He may pee his pants when he opens that case. Great meeting you Chuck. Thanks again.
Are you in the market for a 39 year old son? If so, I'm your guy!!! Great job Dad. Please post the reaction from him???
At the risk of sounding corny, the boy is pretty awesome. Great student, never gives us any trouble, he's always helping his brother and sister, he's in the National Honor Society, and as part of that he donates his time once a month to Gleaners Food Bank, he helps me coach 3 baseball teams, and does his chores at home. He's earned this. I hope he loves it.
I'll be danged........all this time I missed this post!! Glad to hear he is making a name for himself there at the club too Paul!! Nothing I'd rather see than someone getting good use out of that bow and making some great memories for himself and you too!!
I think he almost crapped himself..... At first, there was just a look of confusion. Understand, my oldest son is pretty quiet, shy, doesn't cause trouble. So when he opened the case, for a split second you could see in his eyes...."Did I somehow accidentally grab someone else's bow?". His brain just wasn't working. So, being the idiot that I am...I played along. I was acting like I wasn't paying attention, telling him to get his bow out and get to the line. He starts examining his case, to make sure it's his case, he's got a couple of stickers on it, so he's knows it's his. "Dad, I think someone accidentally put their bow in my case last time we were here" I walk over to the case. "How the hell did something like this happen? Do you know who was here last time we were here? (the club) Because I certainly don't remember, and I don't recognize the bow. "No." At this point, he's really starting to get worried...I realize, he doesn't care about this bow, he's wondering where his bow is. He's staring at a Mathews Creed in his bow case, and all he's concerned with is trying to figure out where his bow is. So, I let him off the hook. "You might as well keep it. Happy Birthday". All in all, it's was a lot of fun, and I can tell you without a doubt, he was more than happy to give his Mission bow to his little sister.
