Out of ruined arrows or good arrows? Torch works to get them out but will trash your arrow, cracks the carbon and leaves it useless.

Take a drill bit or nail and put it in the end of the arrow. Then whip the arrow so the bit slide down the arrow shaft and hit the back of insert. If the insert doesn't come out on the first try, keep doing it till it does. But be careful because when the insert does come out the bit and the insert fly out really fast. I have seen some one break a window while doing it.

I was assuming arrows were being shortened. Trying to moving inserts from carbon is usually a waste of time IMO

That's easy! I like to use an old field point to do this.

-screw in the old field point.
-using a lighter or torch heat the filed point. Only the field point. Make sure it doesn't get very hot. I prefer using a regular Bic lighter. Keeps the tip and insert from getting to hot.
-use a pair on pliers and turn the tip clock wise and pull.

I have done this on tons of inserts and it works great from hot melt to 5 minute epoxy. It also doesn't damage the arrows. Just remember to keep the flame off the carbon.

Putting in a field point and then taking a lighter and heat where the insert is, then take pliers and grab the field point and pull it out.
