What turkey broad heads do you recommend. Right now I shoot the rage 2 blade hypodermics for all big game. I've heard that any heavy blade with the largest cutting diameter is best. Would my rages be alright? I do a little taxidermy and like to practice on turkeys, and the less cut feathers the better, so I have been looking at the Guillotine style heads. With those huge blades sticking off the front end though, they look like they would fly horrible. Thanks for the help.

From my understanding you have to get special arrows to get the head choppers to fly right.

Ditto the hammerheads. That's what i'll be shooting at turkeys this spring. Yesterday morning when I let the dog out I heard a bird gobble. Got me going a little bit:nana:

How much does your point of impact change from using field points using the hammerheads?

If do a quick search there was just a thread about this. As far as the point of impact, if you have a well tuned bow you can shoot any broad head and have it hit the same as your field point.

I use Magnus bullheads. They fly great up till about 15yds... plenty far enough for turkey hunting. You will need to use a longer arrow to get the blades out past your site. I use to use mechanicals but when a tom is in full strut their are a lot of feathers and not much bird. Sometimes (even with a good shot) the birds will run and in my experience they are very hard to find. Take their head off and they may run. They just wont run far lol.

My Hammerheads group right with my field points at 40 yards no problem! I have never shot them past that!

I will always recommend NAP spitfires for turkey's. I love them and the size of cut they have on impact. Many different models including the Gobbler Getter that has a blunt tip. It is designed to hopefully not pass through the bird creating more damage in the cases he bird doesn't go down right away.

I was going to go with the Magnus Bullhead but don't want to change arrows. I am thinking the NAP Gobbler Getter is getting the nod. I would just use my QAD Exodus I use for deer but I read so many stories of guys losing turkeys I want something that creates max damage.

I have been wondering the same thing. Does anyone know if you would have to resight in your bow if you shoot broadheads similiar to the magnus bull head ones?

You can just shoot the same broadheads that you use for deer. Personally, I love my NAP Killzones.
