I went last year with my boy how was 13. It was youth shotgun / adult bow season. He got one. I had a chance to get his turkey's buddy, but didn't want to take what would have been an "across by son's back" shot, so I passed. Had them close one more time, but the window behind me was open, and they were there before I could close it, so they saw me.

It's not easy. I get the reason why the post above says that it's shotgun for him from now on.

It's the ONLY WAY I'll hunt them from now on (after scoring that double last year!).

I've been trying for several years and never got one. I'm not a good turkey hunter anyway.

I have never been, but if I can find the time I will only hunt them with a bow.

I'll be hunting with a bow this spring, leaving the blind at home too. Run and gun with the bow this spring, may not get it done but I hate turkey hunting so hoping this will spice it up some!

Same here Sam. My first year hunting turkey, and I am going to use the bow. In 'my' mind, it's the only way. Lol. Good luck.

I have bow hunted turkeys for about 12 years now. It takes a little more scouting than gun hunting to be successful in my opinion, but is a lot of fun.
