I know this is a commonly asked question so I dont want the "it all depends on you" type of answers. But im looking at bows and it just seems impossible to choose. So here's what im looking for: im wanting a short ata maneuverable bow, fast (of course), and not TOO expensive. Trying to stay around 650. So here's what im looking at so far 2013 bowtech assassin Mathews z7 extreme hoyt factor 30 Hoyt charger I know this is not exactly desirable but I cannot shoot them before purchase. What can I say Online is way cheaper... Any tips or other bows that fit my description?
Hoyt faktor. Everyone that tries it loves it. Why couldn't you shoot it at a shop and then order online? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Your gonna get 1000 different answers...so here is mine. I love my new Faktor 30, it shoots great and is smooth as a babies butt. If your gonna go with a bow without shooting it it can be tough but If you go with a company like Hoyt that is known for shootable bows it can definetly help. Just make sure to get it, or any bow, set up and tuned right for you. Good Luck
I would add the mission ballistic and blaze to your list. I would really advise you go shoot all these bows and then order online. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
Not sure about the other 3 but the Faktor will more than likely be a good deal more than $650. My turbo ended up right at $900 with a colored grip. Why can't you go to a pro- shop and shoot them all then look online for a deal on the one you choose?
Never buy a bow you did not shoot first period. The mo deer classic is in Columbia mo on March 15-16 you can see and shoot there. All great bows.
Yea there is one shop here in my college's small town and its a hoyt shop. But its a small shop and shooting there consists of a 5 yard shot in a garage. Dont get me wrong the products are high quality, but shooting is not much of an option.
Take my opinion for what it's worth.. I'm sure someone will fight it before this thread becomes irrelevant in a few days. I've shot the z7 extreme and the hoyt charger. I thought the draw on the hoyt was much smoother than the z7. That being said, I think the z7 is a smoother firing bow. There's pros and cons to each. I don't know what prices your getting, but I would be willing to guess the charger is the cheapest of these bows. If it were me and price was a major deciding factor, I would go with the charger. It's not Hoyt's top of the line bow, but it is fast, smooth, and in my opinion, the best bang for the buck. Sucks that you aren't able to shoot them for yourself though..
Missouri Valley College in marshall. And yea I have considered the charger. The one im really curious about is the bowtech assassin.
Wirutjunkie I cant disagree with that. But im not exactly sure what to look for (or feel). I've shot two bows my whole life. My youth bow and then my lights out (currently selling). So Idk what to look for when im shooting
I was not impressed at all with the bowtech assassin I shot. It had a pretty rough draw cycle, felt a 10 pounds heavier in the draw weight than the rating and was noisy. The only good thing I have to say about it is that it did sling the arrow hard and fast. The one I shot was set at 70# and drew harder and rougher than my Element set on 78#. You want to look for a bow that fits your hand, draws smooth, shoots smooth, holds well with a solid draw stop (backwall) and shoots with as little vibration in your hand and quiet as you can find comparing one bow to the others. The only way you will know what "Feels" comfortable is to shoot a few bows and that's where shooting even at 5 yards will tell you a lot.
I shoot the Z7 and it is a nice bow, for me. I just saw a couple LH models on Ebay you might want to look at. Good luck with your decision.
Okay... I own a Bowtech, and I found the Hoyt Charger to be WAY smoother to draw than what I currently shoot. I even considered purchasing that puppy because it was as smooth as butta'. Good luck in your choice.
Sounds like the faktor 30 is the favorite lol. Thanks for the input guys I'll definitely put some pics up when my decision is made
