I picked up my 2012 archery buck Friday evening. I am extremely happy with this old bruiser, and it was worth the wait. He's on the wall, and in another year, he will be joined by my 2013 buck. My hats off to Paul Jarvis for another outstanding job. I'll be grinning all weekend! Thanks for taking a look!

I am glad you are happy with it! It does look really good!

At the same time I could never wait that long for a mount. I don't care how good the artist/taxidermist is. If it takes him that long to turn out good work either he takes in more then he can handle or he is exceptionally slow!

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I really appreciate it.

About waiting this long for the finished mount: I have known Paul for many years, he's a friend, and he has been putting deer on the wall for people since 1966. I knew up front that the turn around would be a year, maybe a bit more. Paul is also an extremely talented musician, and that, along with his taxidermy business, keeps him very busy. Paul also makes long bows. I have seen a lot of his work, and I know when it's done, it will be done right.

To me, I would rather wait a year or more and have a beautiful, well done, long lasting mount, than get it back in a few months, and regret it for the rest of my days. IMO, all bow hunters work hard to earn every deer we take............and when I get one that is worthy of hanging on the wall, I owe it to the animal and myself to make sure it's done right.

Great looking mount, and I really like the wood, it seems to set off the mount. I think a one year wait is the average for a good taxi, that's how long it took for my buck to be completed. Quality is worth waiting for. It took me a lot longer than a year to kill a buck big enough (in my eyes) to mount, so waiting another year wasn't a big deal. Nice buck!
