Well 3rd lottery draw results for Illinois turkey tags are out. Drew my tag for 3rd season. So I am going for a bird in at least 2 states, if I tag out early I may go for a bird in Missouri too.

Good Luck! Posts like these sure make me glad I hunt in the south when it comes to turkey hunting. Two birds in KY, Four in TN, and 3 in AL each spring... Jokes on us when deer season rolls around I suppose though.

2 weeks until I'll be chasing gobblers with a bullhead and my HeliM in hand.

I get 2 tags for Iowa, and can get 2 for missouri. Only reason I'm hunting Illinois is to hunt with a buddy, it is easier for me to get a Illinois tag then for him to get an Iowa tag.

How much do your turkey tags run you? Here in Oregon it's $25 a tag.

24.50 in Iowa for resident tags, plus a hunting license, 150 for non res in Illinois plus non res hunting license, and 150 I think for Missouri for 2 tags.

I pulled a 2nd season IL tag and have in for the daily drawings for either 4th or 5th. Resident tags are $15 or $16 and I think we can shoot 2 or 3 birds depending on how many tags you can get. It blows having to apply for a season/county and only getting 5 days per season to hunt. Not that I don't like hunting turkeys but I just can't bring myself to take time off work to do it.

Hopefully the snow is gone by April! At this rate who knows...

I like it, just not as much as I like deer hunting. Considering it's a 2 1/2 hour drive to my lease and I only get a few days a year to do it, it's certainly not up there on my favorite things in life. However it's something that gets me in the woods and I've never killed one so I'm actually excited to try this year. Can't be any worse than last year!
