Numbers must be starting to get sustainable in some parts of the state. One was killed by a vehicle in Morrison, IL not too long ago.
I'd say the number are climbing so don't think it'll be long before there's pressure to open a season. Saw the first one here, in person, couple years ago. Hadnt seen any since until this fall started getting a lot of pics on trailcams of cats. If I had to guess there's at least three for sure roaming the farm I hunt. I hope they do make it so we're able to legally take one.
Havnt seen any up here close to the WI border but im sure they are around Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk
I've seen 5 or 6 while hunting the last few years, but have been getting them consistently on trail cams since '08.
We've got truckloads of 'em down here in Texas. I was fly fishing last year and a cacophony of noise caused me to look over my shoulder. A HUGE tom was sitting on a cliff about 10 yards from me watching me cast. It was the 3rd time I had seen a bobcat. I should add this was just minutes from downtown Dallas. I have often wondered if he was wondering if I was too big to eat.
