In order not to hijack another thread, I'll put this up here.

I love my Lone Wolf Stands & Sticks. I honestly think they are hands down the best out there. Thought that before they were a sponsor and before I was part of the team.

When I can, I love to have my stands pre-hung. It just makes getting in & out quicker and easier. But one of the beauties of the LW set-up is how nice they are for a run & gun situation. I do this a lot.

In the past I've always struggled with hauling all the crap I bring into the woods, on top of the stand & sticks. Early season, it's not so bad. I can usually get away with a fanny pack worn on the front with my stand/sticks on my back. As the season gets colder, the rut nears and the gear mass get larger, I've struggled.

I've hung my backpack off the back of my stand, but it's simply too clumsy. Especially if you have to break trail through thick brush.

I've worn my pack on my chest like a baby carrier. That's clumsy and eliminates the ability to shoot your bow if needed.

Late this season, I was racking my brain as to how to carry everything (especially if I start bringing camera gear) in a more efficient manner. Then it hit me. The GamePlan Gear BowBat XL.

No... Not how it's designed to be used, but like this.

This allows me to carry it all right on my stand. Compact. Quiet. Manuverable. Best yet, I can carry my bow in my hands and still shoot. The BowBat Xl will also let me carry in extra clothes, gear, tree arms, just about anything I'd need. It also carries it closer to my body making it carry much easier and alters your center of gravity much less.

I'm Very excited for this new set-up to be deployed next Fall!

A side note. I've tried using bungies, and other straps, but nothing compares to the solid & noiseless carry of the stacked sticks as LW intended. They are solid enough that you could grab the top stick and pick me up off the ground without them budging. I don't have to worry about anything shifting or coming loose on those long walks into the bush.

I see now! Thanks you for sharing. I initially thought you were using the BowBat to carry the stand and sticks.

Just using it as a pack that will attach to them. Here's a product video for those that are unfamiliar with the XL.

You can obviously use it as they intend, but I like to have my bow in my hands, free and ready to use on those afternoon walks into the stand.

I'm not sure yet if I'll actually use it as a backrest of not.

Thats a pretty slick idea there, Fitz. If I ever get serious about a run and gun setup, ill probably look into this.

Since you hunt public land I would consider this type of set up with it

I'm glad i can leave all my stands up. If I had to carry all my crap in every hunt including stand & sticks I'd need a 5th wheel trailer & a dually pick up! ;-)

I might be oblivious, but I guess I'm not seeing the advantage of this? It looks like you're packing the stand and sticks exactly the same way but are just covering them with a bowbat? What advantage does covering them up provide?

I can carry all my gear with the pack. So all my gear, stand & sticks are in one package.

Nice setup! I just bungee my Badlands Hybrid to the stand. It works but does sag down sometimes. Might have to try out the BowBat.
Have you tried the Molle II shoulder straps and belt? I bought some last year and it makes those long walks so much more comfortable.

Good thinking Fitz. I like where your heads at:)

That's an issue I have with carrying hang ons and climbers as well. Not sure why LW doesn't already make a backpack themselves just for that reason or summit as well so I feel your pain.
Another thing I wish LW or someone would make are an easy clip to hold the sticks. Unstrapping them and strapping them back and forth to the stand in the dark woods is a pain. Maybe clips built into the bottom of the stand so you can carry the stand on your back as you climb and just reach back and grab a stick as you need one.
