I've looked at the website & videos but I still don't know WTH they are or why I need them. I guess I'll just keep killin deer the old fashioned way...
They're serated tubes that are layed forward between each vane and covered with a plastic tube. Looks like as they come in contact with the hide they latch onto it and slide the tube off while retracting. The tube then stays in the entry wound like a siphoning straw to keep it open while the serrated tubes(tentacles) then rip through whatever flesh and such they pass through. Ever seen one of those keychain limb saws? I'd imagine its much like that but they have it advertised as nearly 8" cutting diameter. It's more like a sawtoothed streamer IMO. It would have to be rigid and locked in place to achieve 8" diameter.
What happens if it pre deploys on your arm? Scary thought... I don't blame that guy for using a launcher to fire his bow.
If you need these, then you need to either go back to the range and practice shot placement or quick bowhunting. IMO. It's just another gimmick for someone to make money and there's people out there that would buy them thinking they need them. Shot Placement, shot Placement, Shot Placement...A good double lung shot is all you need.
This looks like the most dangerous thing I have ever seen. Do I really want something that could cut me open going past my arm when I release an arrow? I killed a doe this year, the arrow when in the lung area and hit the shoulder on the opposite side. The arrow didn't pass though. What good would this have done me?
