I am looking to buy a trail cam. It will be my first. Does anyone have any suggestions on models or makes that they have had good luck with in the past? Thanks

I've ran Moultrie, Covert and Bushnell. Moultrie is definitely the top brand for me.

With Black Friday coming up, watch the ads for what's on sale. Typically Cabela's, ****'s Sporting Goods, Gander Mountain, Bass Pro, Scheels, etc. will all have trail cameras at pretty sweet deals on Black Friday. I would stay away from Wildgame Innovations cameras, those will surely be on sale somewhere.

If you don't get a camera Black Friday, watch for Cyber Monday (the Monday after Thanksgiving). I usually score some pretty sweet deals then.

I like the Wildgame N2 for $39.99. It takes pretty good photos and allows me to run a lot more cameras. I can buy 3-5 of these for every Moultire or Covert. I attach some photos tonight for you if you'd like.

Happy with my Red 40 for the most part. I still think I'm going to build one (maybe two) more homebrews this winter. I just like flash cameras so much better.

I am assuming the WildGame trail cams are low quality?

Not necessarily I like then I think some cameras are and aren't. The N2 I really like but peoples opinions differ.

I used a Covert Black 60 and a Moultrie M880 this year. Both worked very well. Good pics night and day. Quick reaction time. The only difference I saw was the battery life. Batts in the covert lasted till two weeks ago. Batts in the Moultrie still have 40% life left. Not bad with either cam. One set of batteries last all summer and into November is good in my book.

My covert mp6 has the longest battery life of any other cam I have.

I use bushnell trophy cam. The cabelas- exclusive one is on sale right now for $170 and a $30 mail in rebate so $140 all together. Good pictures and what I like is that it takes 3 or 5 shot bursts, and the pictures are about a second apart. I got a spypoint IR-7 2 years ago, and it said it had burst mode, but each picture was 10 seconds apart. I always got 1 picture of a deer then 2 blanks.
