Gonna post this on a yearly basis, but the following are highly recommended for review by all, especially those new to our ranks as bowhunters. K...now for this one..... And before anyone says it...a super fast bow, or a super expandable broadhead of destruction will never make up for poor shot choices...that is all. Good luck this year boys!
The Shooooot picture shows quartering away ones. Slightly quartering to ones I don't proclaim as a good shot...it'd take a special scenario and a confident moment for me to shoot a quartering to animal (and it'd have to be a very slight quartering to).
Maybe I would take the quartering to shot if the would vitals glow for me like they do in that bottom right picture.... I completely agree, if a good shot doess't present itself it wasn't meant to be! Very good post tynimiller.
I like sitting a big ole expandable right in between their legs while they are walking away. Then they gut themselves while running :what: Ok seriously I really hope that must of the guys on here now better than to take those crappy shots. Great post Ty Sent from my SGH-T999L using Tapatalk 2
And know where the vitals are. Too many hunters have no idea what the inside of a deer really looks like. Because they never see it. They shoot their deer and haul it off to be processed. Know what you are aiming at.
jmbuckhunter Amen perfect! Backcountry that one you are saying is dead...you shooting inside it's front left leg or right through it?
There is a light spot up the inside of the leg and at the base of the neck. Im aiming just to the left of that. Nothing to stop the arrow but every major artery in the body where they connect to the heart. Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
I was hoping so...this is a shot I'll admit given the right angle and preferred on the ground like out of aground blind I would take at 15-25 yards. It's not a shot I would ever tell a rookie or novice bow hunter to take...and to be honest I myself may not personally. However, some whom have exceptional ability with the set ups and know their abilities can ethically take that shot and would.
Just to clarify. I would not take this shot unless it was close, <15. 100% would have to be from the ground. This also applies to Elk.
