Simple question, does this buck get the arrow? You can add why/why not if you want too...

Without a doubt, if he walked by my stand, im shooting. FWIW.

For sure I'm shooting. That would be a great first buck for me to take.

Yes, simply because I've never killed a buck with more than 8 pts.

In my current hunting situation I would shoot him. If I had plenty of property where he could make it a couple of years and mature I would let him walk.

He will walk this year. I think he is a giant 2 1/2 or a small 3 1/2.

From the looks he ain't fully mature buck but is getting there. If that's your property I would definitly let him walk but for a first buck he would hit the ground.

He wouldnt be my first archery buck, but he would be my biggest. My area is filled with gun hunters with the "brown is down" mentality. There is nobody else who would pass on him, so whether he makes it through the season is solely up to how smart he is.

Is there bigger bucks around? Of course. Have i seen them this year? Nope.

I'm lettin it fly if he walks be me where I hunt. If I were fortunate enough to have my own land to manage I may second guess that shot. And that's a maybe. Lol.

unlike many here i dont hunt land by myself. i am in a hunt club that has 50 members, but maybe 20 that bowhunt. if i didnt shoot it the next person would so i would take a shot.

if i was able to have land to let deer get bigger it would be a close call. its a great looking deer but it will grow wth age, and obviously it cant do that if its dead already.

I guess it all would depend on what I am seeing on camera and what part of the season it would be in. If it was real early season I may pass if I knew there were other bigger ones in the area I was seeing on camera faily often.

Having said that, if that buck was on my land I would shoot it.

With all the property that we hunt and the number of bucks we have around , I'd pass him for another year or so but I'm definitely not one of those guys that would complain if my neighbor shot him :)

If i was in the trophy hunting business and had more then 100 acres to manage, id do the same. But in my current mindset, i think he would make a great second archery buck to add to my collection.

These other bucks are in the area, and are in the same class and age structure (2-3 year old bucks):

Sitting at my desk looking at the picture I say no but I have a feeling it would be different sitting in the stand knowing it would be my first compound bow buck :moose:

LOL i wouldnt go THAT far. Though a handfull of 200" deer have been taken around here, it takes a SPECIAL buck to reach that status. This guy would most likely top out in the 160's if he reached 6 years old (Which is all but impossible).
