Whats the coolest thing you've found in the woods? Mine is nothing much but I found a garter snake munching on a toad. Made for a pretty cool pic. I've also found some pretty cool glass bottles.
Ive found sheds and arrows people have dropped. I'm sure some ppl have some nice pics of what they found
Crazy find. I was pheasant hunting with my french brittany, she went on point and was very birdy. I went to flush and found a dead piebald doe. Crazy. A deer was shot the evening before at a place I also pheasant hunt. The deer was not recovered, but a perfect shot was made. As you can see she really blended in well. No blood. Really I mean no whatsoever blood trail and only went 100 yards. The hunter got his deer, I got a story and my britt has another use.
I have found an old pick axe head in a small stream next to an old iron furnace they used in the late 1800's. I wasnt hunting but I was scotting for turkey season.
found a family grave yard most of the stones has dates in the late 1700's and early 1800...lots of very young children. Most where worn almost smooth but a few where still readable. I went back and used paper and charcoal and made a few prints of the more worn down ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We were goose hunting and a flock came in and we shot a bunch. One of them was still alive on the ground but couldn't fly. Before we got a chance to finish it off, it ran into the hedge row next to us. We went in after it, and one of the guys in our hunting group stepped out of the hedge row with this. No body with it, just the head. Never found that goose though. Some fox had an easy meal that night.
a coyote den... It was on the side of a slight ridge, imagine a funnel in the ground 10ft deep with a 6" hole at the bottom. Coolest thing and the sides were so steep i have no clue how those ratty little dogs get out! Wish i had pics
I too found an old family graveyard. And just like yours, it was mostly children. Creeped me out and I got outta there. Blessings.......Pastorjim
I found an old two person saw blade way up almost to the top of a mountain I was hunting on. Blade was about 4' long. The cool thing was there was a few real old stumps all covered in moss nearby!
Old graveyards here as well. The coolest thing was in Guam, I found a crashed Japanese Zero, though I am sure it wasn't really all that lost. Found a huge unexploded bomb and reported it stupidly... the Explosive Ordinance Team closed that hunting area.
I found two 1.5 coil spring traps within 10' of each other, while looking for mushrooms one spring. They were both wired to small trees and the trees had grown right over the wire. I actually caught a coon in one of them later that fall.
i found a remington 870 express shotgun while deer hunting upstate new york, it was like brand new, some one must have left it that morning, so i left it alone for 2 days to see if anyone took it back, they didnt so on the last evening i took it with me finders keepers!
Saw some metal pots down in a draw in western virginia.. had tubes or piping going from one to the other with a little fire going on under one. Not sure what the heck kind of science experiment those guys had going on but they were sure surprised to see me haha. JK, i was bringing the boys some lunch
you never leave to run into town for more brew?? or steaks or whatever.. maybe take a quick shower and head back out to the campsite?
we find all kinds of stuff in the creeks and rivers during the summer. we find arrowheads and stone knives and tools, sometimes old glassware. always neat to see those old green utility pole tops. found one 100% intact in the timber last deer season laying next to a Duraglas bottle from 1940. not a chip on either one, talk about weird.
