my fiance and i went down to the pier to see if the fish were biting, chatted with a guy and he had a hoyt hat on, we got to talking about hunting and he said hes only killed 1 buck and it was last year. he said ( yeah my bow is 2-3 years now so its a POS needa get something new so i can actually kill somethin wit hit. ) after that remark, i changed the subject to baitfish and didnt want to really talk to an archery expert like this, he then said ( yea well in washington you cant use the flip broadheads, since its the only thing that will ACTUALLY KILL a deer they take it away from us hunters ) he babbled about something of the nature about indians but i was worried he might think i wanted to keep talking to him, so i sneakily walked off and headed back to the car along with speeding out of the parking lot after this i went home and got my gear ready for this morning, i went out and did some small game hunting and stump shooting, for the few game i got, i giggles and said ( i dont need flip broadheads to kill animals, alls i need is wing nuts )
I love talking to experts. Even more than archery, I love fishing experts. After working for the GFP and USFWS for the last two years, I run into them all the time.
Sounds just like a guy that works for my dad he knows it all. lol I just tryan avoid the hunting subject
yep, he also made the comment about him shooting a huge buck at 70 yards, but he had to wing it off of his 40 yard pin, kinda made me not like him straight off the bat......... i dont even do that with pigeons in the back yard
Sounds like the same kind of guy that needs a .338 Mag. with 250 gr. bullets to deer hunt in the woods.
When I run across such a person I try to help them out because I figure without help this type of "hunter" can give the rest of us a bad name. Some guys just need some good advice, but for some guys help from another hunter is just not sufficient, unless the helpful hunter happens to be a psychiatrist too! I know just such a guy, a real piece of work, with an IQ lower than his kneecaps. He reminds me of Eddie from the Vacation movies. He has a large, totally awesome property to hunt, all to himself. I helped him scout it, there are big bucks everywhere in there, a dream spot, and he is always inviting me to join him................ I am starting to run out of excuses, sometimes it's just not worth it!
You should have ask if he also hunts from the bed of the truck. That's the most common stand in my state.
I agree. An easy to shoot , easy to maintain, forgiving and pretty much indestructible bow . Just the kind of bow an inexperienced and maybe a little mentally challenged person needs.:D Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
