If I go to the bathroom from my treestand it is a really long, long walk there and back so I just piss over the side. The deer don't mind. I do draw the line at hanging my *** over the side and taking a **** though.

only pooping will effect the deer. Urine smells like urine. they don't assoisate the smell with humans, due to so many other creaturs peeing all the time. If you poop from the stand then,,,,well your just too wierd so go ahead, but wear your safty harness.

For us older guys, peeing from the stand is a great measure of your prostate health. I mean afterall, if you can hit a log that is at least ten feet from the base of your tree, well then..........!

The other morning I got to my stand early to freshen up scent wicks & set up decoys. When I got into my stand it was still pitch dark & I had to pee so as usual I stood up to take care of business & about half way through I realized I was peeing directly above & all over one of my trail cams! :jaw:

And the only thing not yet mentioned, you do also want to take the wind into consideration (aim downwind if possible)...

I used to bring a bottle for years. It was hard to break the habbit but after reading so much and talking to so many guys that pee off the stand I started doing it too. However I poop as far away from the stand as I can LOL.

I have a question similar to peeing in the stand. My gramps and uncles all taught me to bowhunt. They used to yell at me for chewing gum, which I can understand. But, they all chewed tobacco in the stand! They would spit into bottles, but sometimes strait on the ground/tree. My roommate that I hunt with now, dips in the stand. I was slightly annoyed by this so I asked him how he thought It would affect hunting? he responded with "Deer aren't threatened by Skoal strait!"

Im curious what are your thoughts/experiences?
