Had a few minutes to shoot... bowstring snapped... man this hurts... two weeks before the season... low on funds... Please insert appropriate but clean expletives for me... I can't think of any right now.

Wow, that looks nasty. Was that string slap, shaft hitting or something bow failure? Either way, it looks painful.
Yowchie. Hope that swelling goes down and doesn't affect your season. How old is/was the string on the bow? I've been very fortunate not to have this happen...yet.
I had the string put on last December. Not sure what hit my arm ... the limb I think. The arrow snapped also right in front of the feathers, that could have been really bad so I am enormously thankful for what did not happen. Swelling is going down now and the color is returning to normal... my mind is also clearing up, so "I will praise Him in the storm!" Thanks for the encouragement... it's all good.
Wow! Hopefully you can get it restrung before season opener. Surprised it snapped after only a year. How many arrows have you shot with it?
I am just hoping there was no cam or limb damage... If so... I will be going to something other than Hoyt. Have never liked this bow... but I bought it and was making the most of it.
Bummer man. Sorry about your bad luck. I just had a new string and cable put on my bow the other day because I was pushing the limit on the old one. Your post makes me glad that I did. Hope you are able to get it up and shooting again.
Dang, that makes me want to get my string replaced. I've always had fears of getting hit in the face or eye with a string that breaks. How in the world did the arrow shaft snap?
I don't know... I went looking for the arrow and only found the nock end with the feathers... Cold chill!
