Alright....so this morning I had a coyote come in due to a red-tailed hawks's awesome catch of a squirrel 50 yds away from me. The coyote was very curious from the smells of blood and the squeals the squirrel let out. This yote was not however interested in my decoys, which was a first for me. Most of the time they have come right in. I drew on the coyote at 40 yds but he was behind a fence and then got behind some thick brush leaving me a very narrow margin of error. I reluctantly let down and watched him walk off because I felt I had no real shot at him. So, I come into work today and tell a buddy about it. He said he would have shot no matter what(its a dang coyote). I asked if he would do the same at a deer? He said no. So this answer got me wondering....does anybody feel they increase their lethal comfortable shooting range while bowhunting to chance a shot on a yote? Or would the same comfortable distance you would take a shot on a 150 class white-tail apply for all other animals?

On a yote I'd shoot as far as my pins would allow, because on a cattle ranch we try to kill as many as we can. On a 150" whitetail I wouldn't shoot outside my effective lethal range of 25-30 yards. I wouldn't want to risk wounding an animal of that caliber.

I would be more worried about losing or messing my arrow up.
