I shot it the other day and I'm so used to a higher axle to axle length it felt like a toy in my hands. Didn't feel right for me.
i loved the review, i wish i had this when i was trying to decide between the heli m and the insanity... i went with the helim anyway
Just purchased one a month ago. Over the last few years I've had flagship bows from, bowtech, diamond, Ross and shot all the top flagship bows before my new purchase. The Helim outshined them all with it being everything your review said it was and more. Im not a mathews fanboy at all as I havn't owned one in 10 years. I've never shot more accurate out to 70-80 yards like I am now. This thing is soooo quiet and accurate it is scary! I will have this bow for a long time, might not ever get rid of it, even if I purchase a new bow.
He would be shooting one to but he didn't win it this year finally:D Sent from my LG-E739 using Tapatalk 2
I've shot it several times now as my local shop is a Mathews dealer. It's definitely a nice bow, as is always the case with Mathews. To me, outside of very heavy bows, the difference between 3.5lbs and 4lbs is negligible at best. At only 30" ATA, the Heli better be light! I had a Bowtech Allegiance that weighed 3.7lbs way back in 2007 so super light is hardly new. It shot well and it still is to this day one of my favorite bows of all times. My new bow, a Destroyer 340 weighs 4.1lbs and honestly, I can't tell that much difference in the weight realm.
Honestly, the Helim is a freak. I shouldn't be as balanced and as solid as a bow this light is.... Took about 4 shots before I had to buy one. This is the bow that finally exceeds my expectations in every category. It's so easily tune able I am shooting bare shafts out to 25 yards smacking my fletched arrows. Great article. You hit the nail on the head. The weight isn't the biggest story with this bow. It's a shooter and probably go down as one of Mathews mile stone bows like the Switchback was.
