If that doesn't get you pumped up to go elk hunting I don't know what will. Makes me wish I had that elk tag that I thought I'd have this year.
Appreciate the ASAT camo.....looks like a good bunch of guys......BUT.....I don't appreciate those frontal shots that were shown in the promo video. I taught the IBEP Bowhunter Education program for over 15 years and that is not a shot that is supported by many experienced and knowledgable bowhunters. Just because they SOMETIMES put an animal down is not a good reason to take the chance, anymore than a femoral artery shot will put game down but most do not advocate shooting game in the rump.
There are many experienced hunters who support, and argue that its more lethal, the frontal shot on an elk. Just have to do your research and know where to hit them!
Apparently, any shot at an elk is a good shot to take? The first guy even shot THROUGH a small pine tree. A lot of sloppy crap in that video. Do what you want in the woods, but don't make a video of that garbage.
It says they were all kill shots. But, that certainly doesn't mean they were "good" shots. There was zero composure on some of those flingers. Elk can really rattle your nerves, but that's no excuse for taking quartering too, walking shots and smashing arrows through brush, and..........etc.
I think they have 5 guys in the BRO group, and have 50+ bulls downed between them since 08 area. Going off what they said in a recent Gritty Bowmen podcast.
While I am going elk hunting this fall and I am pumped more and more each day, I thought a lot of those shots were pretty bad. I don't mind watching a frontal shot under 20 yds but the moving shots and quartering to shots were what made me a little disappointed.
