How long does it take to edit and publish a finished product for 1 episode? Also if it's not a secret what program do you guys use for editing?
I have no ideo what it takes for them to edit and publish an episode, but I am at about 10:1 or 10 minutes of editing for 1 minute of final product on the videos I put together for my little portfolio...
During the season our editor typically starts a show on Monday morning and has it finished up sometime late Thursday night. In between that we film interviews as well so it's not 100% editing time. My best guess would be 25-30 hours per episode. That doesn't include the work that's put in ahead of time to create the intro, transition graphics, credits, etc. We mostly use Premiere and After Effects.
Ok I appreciate the comment back. I have been looking for a good program for editing I'll look into these. It sucks yall season doesnt start until later my season started august 15th. Could be killing whitetails already.
If you're just getting started and want to edit videos for your own personal use or to share on YouTube with your buddies I'd start with Adobe Premiere Elements. It's a stripped down version of Premiere that's easier to use and costs significantly less.
Well that's the goal, maybe some day ill be on your level (probably not) lol. Actually I'm trying to create a youtube channel for me and my military veteran friends active and retired to film our hunts and put them on there. Thanks for the info ill definitely be looking into this program .
So do the guys that film for BHOD just send in all their raw footage and then Brandyn edits it? Or do the guys filming cut out some of the stuff themselves?
Yes we do send it in! We also send in a log sheet with details like clip #, length of clip, quality of footage, notes about the footage, highlight what we feel is the best clips along with notes. Same goes with game cam footage and POV footage
I was curious what laptop do you guys think would be sufficient to edit videos for Youtube? Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk
Speaking from some who works in the IT field, a desktop will be much more powerful than most any laptop. Video editing& rendering is processor/CPU & disk intensive. An SSD and excellent processor are a must
