has any thought gone into a staffer who hunts public land exclusively. You could do a whole show on the difficulty associated with finding the right spot where there will not be anyone when you show up to hunt.

I'm pretty sure some of our staff hunts public land. I'm not 100% sure. Heck we don't have any public land within a hours drive from here.

I'm pretty sure Todd & Chase Larson are hunting mostly Public land this season.

Actually most of my hunting is on my lease. I do stray to public land some each season just to get somewhere different and a change of pace or letting an area air out a bit. I hunt 800 acres and you would think its much easier, well its not by a long shot. Its about 95% woods and water. Its really hard to pin a Mature Buck in his living room. No mater how many trail cams I run there is no way of keeping track of individule Bucks as there are thousands upon thousands of more timber connected to my area that they run on. It takes alot of off season home work, boot leather, and maps to help me get an edge. Best of luck this season and Ill try to take at least a Doe on public later in the season and hopefully present a good story with it as to what it entailed up until the hunt!

Public land doesn't make for good shows.

I live in Texas and have never found a place to hunt on public land that wasn't overrun with hunters. I must be missing something.

I do hunt mostly public land in Wyoming, Kansas and Oklahoma with good results so I don't know what Backcountry means by "Public land doesn't make for good shows."

Every year we look to take on new members. The application process opens every January and runs until late April. If you are interested in applying, please email [email protected].

Keep in mind that we are looking for hunters with previous filming experience. In fact one of the criteria for the application is submitting three videos of previously filmed hunts.

With that said, if we found someone we felt fit the team and was a public hunter, they would be a great candidate!

That's hard to say without looking at the footage. Obviously we are looking for quality footage. What type of camera that footage comes from, really isn't that important as long as the footage is good. Granted some camera's just don't have what it takes to produce good footage, but you don't need a 2-5 grand camera to get it done.

Tim. Would you take an "Crossbow only" hunter. I love the Pure Power of Crossbows and since I mainly hog hunt during the summer I really need some power to blow thru those big boars. I also hunt deer with a Crossbow only but I have never seen anybody use a Crossbow exept for Justin that one time.

We are always looking for another avenue to explore and bring to our show, whether it be public hunting, hunting with a crossbow, different areas of the country, you name it. If we feel the candidate can contribute to the show and our team, then we will give them a shot (dependent upon our needs of course)

I've been a Public land (bow only) pro staffer for some time now, with 24 deer killed in 13 years of hunting. I just don't have any sponsors. lol
