I don't want this to sound bad, but whats your goal with this web show ? Meaning are you trying to get this to become a tv show or are you just doing webisodes?
The simple answer: No, we're not trying to be on TV. The funny thing about the outdoor TV industry is that if you want to have your own show you simply need to pony up the money to buy the airtime and you're on TV. You don't need to actually be good or have content that's worth being on TV (as proven by plenty of horrible shows out there). We're not in this to be TV stars. Bowhunting.com as a website gets over 3 million visitors each year. Why pay to be on TV when we have a pretty darn big audience right there? Not to mention putting our shows on our own site alleviates us from some of the "rules" that TV makes you play by. What you can show, what you can't show, etc. As an added bonus for the people who watch our show they get to stream it on demand, 24x7, for free. Seems better than making people have to worry about what network we're on, what time we're on, and having to sit through 10 minutes of commercials in a 30 minute show. Between Bowhunting.com, YouTube, Roku and the iTunes podcast there's plenty of ways to watch BHOD without paying to be on TV and trying to be the next "Marshall Wydell" as one of my friends says. :D
I will have to say that I am glad that you did. I would rather watch the pod casts for BHOD than some shows on TV. Not trying to be a fan boy or anything but the content is entertaining, informative and convenient. It seems to be a good platform to promote bow hunting as well as we know lots of kids are internet junkies and maybe just maybe they will find some interest in it.
Yea a agree. Thanks for keeping it simple and user friendly. We all thank you and hopefully can continue to support you I'm the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Awesome what you guys are doing! Love how you guys show every aspect of hunting and you do it free ! Props to you guys!
Justin, your biz model rocks!! You make it so we all can see it anytime we want. You have great sponsors and the quality of the hunts are good. I don't expect some cinema caliber eye candy. It's perfect so don't change a thing. Only thing I would suggest is more informational or how-to videos as an episode.
One thing I see a show do on tv I really like is when they show you the aerial map of the hunt location, stand sites, walk in access, and wind locations. Helps to give the viewer a deeper understanding of the hunters mind in breaking down a area to hunt and how it all works together..........I'm just saying
Alot of these guys are not going to be willing to put that kind of info out there for others to see. If they dont own the land they dont want others hunting down their lease.
As far as maps go.... I know some of us that own land are going to be doing this for 2014. Its always been on our minds to do but with time restraints on the video we just simply used the hunt and some extra footage. But I agree it would be cool as long as people dont see my spots and go steal my stands. In a small community everyone knows everyone's timber and business. Lol Tyler Rector BHOD prostaff
