My brother bought me a night of bowfishing with some professionals at a teen challenge banquet so we went out last weekend. Carpe Diem outdoors of Mn took us out and they had a very impressive setup.

We missed a lot but ended up with some nice fish! [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Nice! Went out a few weeks back and had an awesome night of shooting.
Heading to Green Bay this weekend for a day shoot. Sounds like they are getting into spawn mode.

Hey Soccerdan, have you ever gone before?

I never have unfortunately. Worried if I buy the equipment I won't use it since I know nothing about it. Would love to find someone who knows what they are doing to show me the ropes.

Awesome!! Bowfishing is so addicting. We went out last Friday morning about 8 a.m. when it was super calm out because the carp come up to shore to sun themselves. We were on the shore and we were in a boat with a trolling motor so you can do it either way. Just find some really calm water where the sun is shining and you'll see their fins sticking out alittle bit and remember....AIM LOW!!!!

Definitely find someone to go with, and it won't be long after that you'll be going out and getting a setup of your own. If you know of a place with carp, you'll be able to go during daylight with just a regular boat, especially during the spawn

I have access to a boat and a place with big carp just don't think I know anyone that goes. Might just have to buy a setup and make myself learn.

Trust me you won't regret it... Never known a single soul who bought the equipment, tried it, and went "eh" and got rid of it lol i've gotten alot of friends out there who were first timers, they were hooked and buying designated bows days later

If you have an old bow laying around buy the setup. Or even try the PSE Kingfisher set-up. Think it runs under $150. Although, once you go, you'll want a nicer bow ASAP.

Looks like a blast. You shot some great fish. It's been a while since I've been out. We just shoot them under a dam or walk the bank. We can stack up some fish that way too.

It's a blast one of the few things I put aside during my busy summer months to do. So worth it and very addicting. Been killing carp lots of ways since I was 8 years old.
