Well kiddies, recently returned from another Canadian Black bear hunt at Lukinto Lake Lodge in Longlac, Ontario. Another amazing time with old friends and some new friends! Fishing was awesome and I think we ate some sort of fresh fish just about every day. I was starting to wonder if I would grow gills or scales! But the number one memory of this trip for me was taking my biggest black bear yet! A whopping 325 pounds with a 24 1/2 inch neck! What a beast! Thank goodness I had help from the UTV winch and the camera man or this beast would have ben much more difficult to load!! This boar went less than 40 yards from the stand and passed literally 3 feet from the trail side! YES! I finally got something to run the correct way!! My camera man had a few issues...like great footage up until the money shot, but there is still some great footage. If you are interested in trying a new adventure, this is certainly a great one to try! Now back to reality, come deer season opener and then for some elk!! Stay safe everyone!
Congratulations on a great bear. Can you cook a bear heart the same as a deer heart? I've heard you have to make sure bear meat is cooler thoroughly because they carry trichinosis. I'm hoping to get my first bear in two weeks in Wisconsin after accumulating 10 years of preference points to get this tag.
