Ok so I have a very small piece of land that buts up to a hunting club on the east side private (non-hunted) land on the north and south sides and on the west a highway. Ok I just want to know if you guys have some tips or tricks on how to keep deer mainly on my property less on the other properties. The land is only about 50 acres so it's very small but it has a lot of deer but it seems like I can never shoot a good buck. I want to manage and it at least have a property that I can always count on to let a deer be harvested.
If you have the deer numbers you need to meet their needs. Two things; food and cover. If they have food and water along with a place they feel comfortable they will hang around. I realize it's not that simple but that's a good place to start.
I agree with copperhead. I have a similar place that has a huge bedding area. I just started hunting this land and talked to the owner about letting me grow a couple different food plots. Which should keep the deer on the property. Your neighborhood Bow Hunter
This has to be a first. Ol' copperhead got one right. Deer live around fulfilling their basic needs, food, shelter and sex.
