Have any of you guys ever made you're own treestands? I'm in a welding class this semester at tech and we get to do a project at the end of the course. Just wondering if anyone has any safe and reliable plans that would work? Thanks.

I would guess it wouldn't take much in the way of plans to just copy the specs on a commercial stand. Honestly though with the price of stands as cheap as they are I can't see where building them would be cheeper figuring in time and materials

My BIL makes his own ladder stands. 30$ worth of steel and he'll make 2 stands 16' to the seat. They are solid but a little heavy. As for his time, it's just tinkering in his free time.
Plus side is no one steals them.
