Love shooting my bow but I tend to shoot my air rifle just as much. Have the gammo whisper .177 cal. Was looking into the beeman rx2 or hw97k. Does anyone out there have one of these models? Just want feed back on them.Looking into the .20 cal or .25. Main purpose starlings and clear out chipmunks, squirrels by my tree stand. With the cost of ammo these days I like the pellet rifle for year round shooting and it seems to keep me sharp for gun season.
    Thanks

I shoot a lot of pellets too. Don't have either of the ones you mentioned.

Elkguide what kind do you have? Another guy I hunt with bought one you have to have scuba tank to fill. I don't want anything that has to be recharged or refilled. I do pretty well with the gammo just looking to upgrade. Airdepot.com probably where I'll do my shopping.

Had a Benjamin .22 cal like tacklebox. I killed so many squirrels and rabbits when I was a kid with that thing.

I have, and really enjoy shooting a Sheridan "Silver Streak" 20 caliber - it's more than 30 years old and still fires at factory spec levels. Also partial to a 22 caliber BSA "Scorpion" break barrel pistol I picked up many, many years ago in England. Both are quiet, accurate...and depending upon the target, deadly.

Sometimes I take my pellet gun and my bow into my one spot because if I have corn out the squirrels are everywhere. I counted up to 28 squirrels from the blind one morning .. Think I've ruined a few hunts by getting trigger happy with the pellet gun though!

I have a Gamo Whisper 177 and does great on starlings at pretty good range. think it will work well for your purpose of squirrels, small birds, and chipmunks from your treestand.

What pellets do you shoot with Gammo? I have the same gun as you and I've tried a variety of pellets none seem to hold that great of a pattern. I'm currently using crossman premier super match completion grade. They seem the most consistent so far but still not overly impressed.

hey ash, I've been using Beeman match pellets (about 7.7 grains) and Beeman silver jet (about 8.2 grains) and they've been pretty good. Hadn't shot groups in a few years so shot a couple tonight with match pellets at 15 yards resting on the garbage can and got half inch groups. a more stable rest they'd probably cut in half. the pellets went through 13 layers of the double thickness heavy shipping cardboard which was impressive. the starlings were about 25 yards and they didn't move after being hit. haven't tried on squirrels yet but hope to this fall.
