Never bear hunted before. May have to put it on my bucket list. Between Deer, ducks, turkey, bass, farm, and wife I'm not sure where I would fit it in!

We had to postpone ours for this fall. Brother had to have surgery on arm and I have back surgery this coming Tuesday. We moved our deposits to 2017. I know there's 3 available spots for opening week in Minnesota. If anybody is interested, pm me and I can give you contact info. Great bunch of guys where I go :)

Would like to hear more about people's past hunts for bear. Where they might return to? Along the same line of question for original question. Would like to do a bear hunt at some point in the near future for black bear. Hoping to possibly get up north in Canada for 2017. Looks like Manitoba is the place to go. Would be fine staying in the states in the right place.

If you plan on hunting bears in Canada, now is a good time. Our $$$ is at it's lowest in 12 years against the US $$, so it will cost you next to nothing to hunt here.

And the bear population is very high, and increasing...

I guess I haven't looked at the price considering exchange. Good point. Thanks

And the glass is always half empty...

Not all quotes are in US $... How many have you looked at??

Costs of salary/tags/food/gas/ are all paid by the outfitters in canadian currency, so it normally reflects on the cost when converted to US currency...

I have hunted Canada about a dozen times, never have I been quoted Canadian funds for a price on any hunt so far. I will be moose hunting again in Canada this fall, the price quoted was in American dollars. Same for next September Caribou hunt. I am booking a goat hunt currently as well, both outfitters quoted me a price in US dollars.
Not saying it can't happen however I have yet to experience it.

Of course they will give you a quote in US $$ if you ask for it,, they'll give you a quote in Pesos if your Mexican.
Most of the outfitters prices are in Canadian $$, and will just convert it to any currency you want at the current rate. And right now the rate for Canadian $$ is very low..

Who said I asked for a quote in US dollars? except it suits you to assume so for you to make a sarcastic remark. Since your an expert at guessing why not guess where you can stick your Pesos.

Everybody calm down and back away from the keyboard. Looks like most online sites are listed in US dollars. Currency being low still doesn't hurt and I'd love to know about any hunts where you could take advantage of the exchange rate.

    Who is going bear hunting?
