My two cents and what I plan on using if I get the chance this fall. I try to practice with these when I am driving down the road. Elk Calling- Tips on Cow Calls with Steve Chappell - YouTube
hmmm...more things to buy...no me gusta...lol however, i really don't know the first thing about elk hunting other than what i've read. when i was stationed in north dakota, it think it would've been classified a lifetime hunt. i've only known whitetail/muleys/pronghorn. this season should prove interesting.
When I start practicing at least I spend a lot of time alone behind the wheel, I just want to find a quality call to get.
I use nothing but Bugling Bull Game Calls. Rockie Jacobsen is a good guy. I love my bully bull tube. The Allstar and Mini Master Single are my go too diaphragms. I also like the Temptress call for an open reed.
ElkNut........ Nuff said!!! Paul Medel is great and his techniques are proven!...... That said, I think Corey's set-up technique is great and I shall be trying it this year. I use the Bugling Bull calls, the All-Star and Raging Bull and also a Primos: Imaka da bullcrazy. If in doubt of your Bull bugles, just go with the cow calls. I called cows in to 15yds last year with the Primos: Imaka da bullcrazy.... great call.
I've used cow calls from Sceery Outdoors, LLC Dr. Sceery 's company sells very good instructional DVDs. Good luck on your elk hunt!
