Greg / MO here! I'll be taking my boys to four states this year, though I'm only hunting three of them. We start off with the boys only in IL, then bring them back to MO for our youth hunt before we jump to Kansas for a week. We leave straight from there to the far Northwestern tip of Nebraska chasing after Merriams and then return to finish up in MO's regular season. I'll have tags for KS, NE and MO. Our team missed taking out the champs last year by just a few points... so let's do this!!
Just checked my trail cams and BOOM 4 turkeys are heading into where I'm hunting. My daughter and I were walking out and spooked 2 in the field. It can't come fast enough!!!

I had a chance at one Friday after work but missed him. He came in from behind me and saw me trying to turn around. I've seen several good ones so far, so hopefully soon I can connect on one.
I'm heading to Nebraska Thursday the 31st this will be my 1st time. Anyone on the team been out there before?
Nope. It'll be my first time out there too, but I've had a buddy go a couple times. I think the thing to watch out for early on is the flocks can be huge and just hard to call one away from that many birds. Of course, the old traditional wisdom of "Be where they wanna go" applies possibly even more out there this time of year.
blueice, can you go back and edit your first post to bold the team member's names who've checked in so far so we know who we're missing?
Checking in boys. Only have 1 tag this year and it is for Northern IL for one week (a Mon-Fri). Hoping to get it done, but not overly confident. Have not had a single turkey on my cams since around the new year on what I thought is my best property to hunt gobblers. Have access to a couple other small properties around so will work my @ss off to get a gobbler on the ground!
