Treestand Sniper checking in. My buddies and I hung five stands yesterday on a new property. Four of us are leasing a 350 acre farm with about 150 Acres of hardwoods in southwest Wi. We have three more stands out on a smaller farm about 7 miles away from the first farm. We will hunt public land in so IL twice this season, so I'm looking forward to contributing to the effort. Derek, I like your website! I saw some of your hunts on the hunt channel and then I checked out a few more on your site. Pretty cool stuff. But I do have to tell you that I tried some Duke's the other day and it wasn't very good!
Checking in. A couple familiar faces here and some new guys. Will be good to get to know everyone as the season goes on. I picked up 4 new properties here in PA and 2 in ohio. Once the velvet starts to come off I'll start scouting pretty hard since they are new farms. I'll keep everyone updated with trail cam pics. Also anything I kill will be on our hunting show. Did you guys participate in the contest last year? How was your season last year? I guess I'll go first. Last year I was living in Wisconsin but have the family farm in Ohio. My wife was pregnant so I couldn't hunt during the rut. Took my vacation the first week of October and ended up getting shooting a small nine pointer at the end of the week. I'll post a pic and a video if you are interested. This year I plan on hunting the family ground in Ohio during the rut (wife isn't pregnant) and we moved to Kansas to be closer to her family. So hopefully I'll have a chance at a decent deer or two in Kansas as well. I scored my team 93 points I think. http://www.sheddinglightod.com/video.html
I only got a doe last year didnt have any shots on a buck but i guess thats how some years go ... i have 4 farms to hunt here in ohio and can't wait for the season to start sounds like we got a lot of buckeye hunters. My name is ryan by the way heres my doe from last year
I live and hunt in upstate South Carolina, so we don't have the size of deer a lot of yall do but I hope i can put a decent one down and help the team as much as possible. I killed 2 does last year to get some meat. Lots of small bucks but nothing I wanted to shoot, but hopefully it will go better this year. I have my family farm here in SC that I hunt and a 1200 acre club just a few miles away. I am in college but only an hour away from home and will have my Fridays off this semester so I should get to hunt just about every weekend minus a few for cow shows. Our season runs from September 15th through January 1st so that will give me thanksgiving break and a few weeks of Christmas break too. Ive had cameras out for a few weeks now and no decent bucks yet, but lots of does that will hopefully bring in some bigger bucks during the rut.
Hey boys. Chago checking in from central Ontario. What's up Joe bear were on same team again. I own 65 acres that's 90% bush. It's challenging but maybe you guys can help with this land. I'm on this land now 3 years and have only taken a small buck and 1 doe in that time. But my camera has shown more monster bucks then any property I've ever hunted. Maybe some of the pros will be able to help. I also have a 100 acre farm that I have permission on, second year on that farm. Expecting big things their this year as I've really learned the property now. Some other sick news. I drew a bull moose tag so October 19 I will be up north for week, back in time for the Halloween bucks.
I will be hunting in Kansas for the rut, bear hunting in September and also have a bull Moose tag for end of September here in Maine.
I hunt in SW PA (both private and state land) and NE Ohio (all private). PA's special regs areas open 9/19 and Ohio starts 9/26. Won't be long now.
