Do we need a Captain for the team? If so... I nominate snake! I've never played in this sandbox before, have only been in the deer contest. Do we need a team name, logo, etc...? When does your season start and how long is it? I did shoot a bird last year with my bow... first one ever - I'm hooked, stoked and can't wait 'til 5/1!
Well, I'm here. I don't know about all that captain talk though! Our season opens April 21 I believe. I've been seeing a ton of longbeards, so hopefully I can put an arrow into one of them. Right now I'm still focused on shed hunting, but it won't be long and I'll be paying more attention to turkeys.
PRESENT!!! Speaking of roll call this reminded me of a Comedy Central skit. I bet I have seen it 50 times and still laugh so hard I have tears. Our youth/archery season begins April 1st and season ends May 31st. My goal this year is to have my 8 year old boy bag his first turkey with a crossbow! Then I will go to work. I usually don't have a problem getting it done. Our corn fed birds are heavy here! Below is my last bird I entered in the contest. Which the taxidermist still has! NWTF SCORE = 25.5 + 12.5 + 13.75 + 22.5 = 74.25 I am going to defer being team Capitan :p to someone else as I have been one several times in the past years. Not that it is hard or anything!
Checkin' in! My season in Southwest WI starts April 23rd and runs until Apirl 29th. Hoping to put down my first bird with a bow. I've got 2 great birds in the last 3 years but with a shotgun.

There is no guarantees ever in the turkey woods. I will be taking a first time turkey hunter April 11-12 with our Local NWTF chapter and the WIDNR. Its my 4th year mentoring. I have first season here in WI with 4 of the 7 days to hunt. Alissa Kay (for some crazy coincidence) is also on the team and is of course my girlfriend. Lets just say out of the last 3 years (two of which she was able to hunt) she killed two birds and both bigger than my biggest. Crazy luck she has. I have three others from the Forum here (Chase Larson, his dad, and Oly44) coming for our forth season. No I wont throw this contest. My goal is to get birds in front of the camera and I enjoy being in the spring turkey woods any chance I can. Good Luck to everyone, including my Teammates on Team 11!
I had to check, but my season is April 21-May 11. I'll be taking a youth hunter again this year, so hopefully I can get lucky and pull a bird into range for him. I'm going with the boys dad in a couple weeks to check out their property to see what kind of sign is there. Just to throw it out there, I don't mind being captain. But if somebody else wants it they can have it, doesn't matter to me. I've been trying to think of some names, but I haven't come up with much. Beard busters Fan folders Strut stoppers I'm sure you guys can come up with some better than that. I'm not too creative.

I just went up stair to make a sandwich. Look what I found in the backyard. 4 strutting their stuff. There is 40 more in the field across the road! Come on April 1st! I sure hope I don't jinx myself by showing you all this stuff. Boy would I look like an arse if I didn't get it done. LOL!
So who is the team captain again? lol. Looks like we need to submit an alternates request by Sunday! We just have one unaccounted for right? Suppose a PM should be sent out to that guy to give him a chance!
