My lucky number is 7 fellas I'm feeling good about this! Not to mention we are having a really cold spring here in Vermont which should keep the birds from strutting early like the last few years! Haven't seen a ton of birds but I did see 9 toms together tonight, yes I'm working on permission for that farm right now!! May 1st!

Lost all of my decoys in our big move last spring. Picking up a funky chicken jake today to try a new strategy. Time to apply elk skills to turkey kills.

Took the funky chicken on a youth hunt last year. Roosted 3 jakes, they didn't come to fight but they certainly never took their eyes off it. One of them died at 4 yards, that's how glued he was to the decoy!

Exactly! I have a full strut decoy with a jake fan that I've had good luck with and a couple cheap hens. Think I'm going to replace the hens with new avian-x hens but can't decide which ones to get... That way if I know I'm hunting the boss I may go with the strutter an hens and if I'm hunting possibly some subordinate birds I'll take the funky chicken and hens, it's certainly easier to pack!!

Afternoon gents, I hear I'm part of this here competition now

As most if you know, I'm Cole from Kansas. I plan on shooting a gobbler with the bow and one with the shotgun. Our season starts April 1 for archery.

I just picked up a Avian-X LCD breeder hen and a funky chicken myself. Birds are starting to show all over. I have tags from April 30 through May 13 and can shoot two birds. Now just trying to figure out what blind I want to go with. I'm really considering a Rhino Blind. I like the double bull, but can't shell out 400 for a blind right now. Any thoughts?

I understand that, rhino's will certainly do the trick. Actually anything will work for turks :D I just got a Avian x breeder and strutter, I have some turkey guys coming thursday of next week so we will see what happens. Then I'm off to OK on the 8th.

Chad, I'm going to go through a bunch of my blinds if I have a decent double bull, I can make you a deal :D
